What are the rules of the run? · We are out here to have FUN and condition our hounds. NO WHINING! Well... the dogs are allowed to whine as much as they want... but the humans are not! · Make sure that your dog is in good condition. Check with your vet. Make sure that toenails are cut short. This prevents injuries to your dogs feet. · Dogs must be on leashes (no longer than 6 feet) at all times, except when running the lure. Absolutely no Flexi-Leads will be used on premises. A $5.00 fine will be assessed for any loose dog (unless it is that dogs intended turn to run the lure). · Owners are responsible for picking up after their dogs. Anyone caught not picking up after their dog will be assessed a $5.00 fine. · Unsportsman-like conduct will not be tolerated. Any person exhibiting unsportsman-like conduct will be asked to leave the premises. · If at the discretion of NWSGA board members, any hound is deemed not fit (for any reason) to run the lure, practice fees will be refunded and said dog will not be allowed to run. · Please keep yourself and your dog a reasonable distance from the lure operator and the lure machine to avoid confusion and injuries. · Please respect each dog's personal space. Lure coursing dogs get VERY excited at the sight of the lure. This can cause them to exhibit uncharacteristic behaviors. Please be certain to keep your dog at least six feet from other dogs until you are certain how each dog will react. · Walk your dog before and after each run. · Let others know that their dogs are welcome to join us! · Bring a snack for yourself, water for your dog, and a blanket or chair to sit on. |
